Aletheia's Storytelling Festival 2022

On the 13th of July 2022, Aletheia Academies Trust held its very first Storytelling Festival at Saint George's All-Through School.

On the 13th of July 2022, Aletheia Academies Trust held its very first Storytelling Festival at Saint George's All-Through School.

After having Phil McDermott, the fantastic storyteller, go into several of the Aletheia Family Schools to inspire the children about storytelling, this event was the perfect chance for the children to perform their own stories for their peers. There was a whole range of stories including "Sidney Spider-A Tale of Friendship" and "Goldilocks and the Three Bears" as well as some of the pupil's very own uniquely imaginative stories! It is opportunities like these that show just some benefits of being part of our Trust. Bringing the children together allowed them to develop and practice oracy in addition to growing their confidence in performing in front of others.

Well done and thank you to the pupils from Shorne CofE, Rosherville CofE, Horton Kirby CofE, St Botolph's CofE, Cliffe Woods Primary, and Halling Primary. The children gave 100% to their performances which showed in the captivation of their audiences; consisting not only of their peers but also the staff who gave up their time to bring the children along to the event.

A massive thank you to the organisation from our Trust Improvement Officer, Mrs. Crinnion, who put together the event, as well as the staff from the schools that attended and helped the pupils to put together their stories and even made a prop or two!
